My wife and I came here for a late lunch, and ordered Guinness from a mostly empty restaurant. Thankfully the Guinness was cold, and the bartender was very welcoming!
I highly recommend the fish and chips in this traditional style British pub, but my wife had the chicken sandwich with ham and cheese which was equally tasty!
Now- my only real complaint, was that I waited a long time for the food-and when my fish came out the chips were cold. Thankfully my wife's fries were hot, so we shared her's which were more than enough.
When the bartender asked how the food was, I told him that my fries were cold. He asked if I'd like replacements, and I said I'd like onion rings instead if possible. So within three minutes I had hot tasty onion rings, and shared them with my wife.
We were both very happy with the meal.
Overall pricing was good and rather than dessert we had another Guinness and enjoyed watching soccer on the TVs, and just talking.
I think this is a good English style pub in the Leesburg area and if you're looking for Guinness I'd say this is one of the best! -

Disappointment awaits anyone who believes that this is an "authentic British pub". Terrible fleapits like this do still exist in Britain, but this hostelry would make the worst of them look good.
None of the food items are fresh. The bangers and mash was one of the most disgusting plates of food I've ever seen. The bangers were not English, and were weirdly sliced into pieces, plonked on top of the mash, and smothered in some unrecognizable gelatinous substance masquerading as gravy.
I've had better fish and chips in Friendly's, which probably also came straight out of the freezer.
To add insult to injury, we were presented with a bill for $80 for lunch for four (2 lots of bangers, one fish and chips, a sandwich and 2 beers).
Toilets are disgusting. Best of British to anyone brave enough to eat here. -

Service at the Cafe was better than the Tavern. It was early afternoon and the place was not busy. In the Tavern we never received menus after 10 minutes so we moved to the Cafe.
The food is consistent with the other reviews. I was disappointed with fish and chips. I am not sure who voted them best in VA, but they are incredibly bland. Dredged in flour but no seasoning whatsoever. It is flounder vs. traditional fish and chips which is Cod or Haddock. My guess is that it is frozen.
Our waitress in the Cafe was great and friendly! Service was faster on the Cafe side. -

My family and I (all of whom are British) stopped by here last week feeling hopeful that we might be able to enjoy some traditional fish and chips or bangers and mash that we have been missing in our 10 years of living in the states. On walking in, we realized this was a mistake. Inside, the pub is quite run down and not very atmospheric. We decided to overlook this and continue to give the food a chance. When my bangers and mash arrived I was sorely disappointed. What I received was some type of italian sausage with a fragrant mushroom sauce and poor mashed potatoes, nothing close to the traditional bangers and mash. I was unable to eat much of it. My mother ordered the fish and chips which were just as disappointing. To top it all off the bathrooms were very unclean. I am disappointed in the quality of the surroundings and the false advertisement as a "British" pub. I will not be returning to this establishment.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and hitting some of the local breweries and restaurants when we decided to walk in to this place. We should've known that something wasn't right when we walked in to a dead empty place. The place was dingy, dark, and had a bad odor. The women's bathroom was broken while the men's was filthy. We went ahead and ordered a beer and a couple of appetizers. Beer was basic junk that you can get at most bars (Stella, Blue Moon, etc)...nothing special. However, the nachos and other appetizers were simply disgusting. Instead of jalapeños or chives or other "normal" nacho toppings, they take they lazy route and throw undercooked green peppers all over it (see pic). It amazes me that owners of establishments like this don't get a clue. Other places literally right next door are hopping with people and great reviews...yet, you stare at at empty bar and don't make a move to do something right.
